    What:    Breast Cancer Update
    When:   Saturday, October 7 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    Where:  Westward Look – Catalina Ballroom 245 E Ina road, Tucson, AZ

    The Breast Cancer Update is a half-day symposium.  It provides patients, caregivers, laypeople and any medical personnel with updates on the latest in treatment, breast cancer surgery, and reconstructive plastic surgery for breast cancer.  This year’s program will also include a genetics discussion.  Attendees will benefit from hearing about current cancer treatments but also by having direct access to breast cancer physicians to ask any questions they might have in a Q & A session.

    In addition, you will get the chance to get additional information on resources for health, wellness and beauty at the Fall Into Beauty portion of the event.  It’s an annual event that is educational, fun, and very uplifting! And the entire day is totally free!

    TMC Wellness and Arizona Oncology Foundation have teamed up to provide the four-week Survive Well series to help patients, survivors and caregivers improve their health through an integrative approach to wellness. Each session addresses a different health topic such as nutrition, physical activity and psychosocial support. Let our team of professionals help you not just survive but to “survive well.”

    Survive Well lectures are every Tuesday. No fee or registration is required.  Weekly topics repeat each month.  Questions, email Wellness@tmcaz.com.

    WEEK 1 – Live Well:Learn how focusing on your overall health and finding a balance of mind, body and spirit can help improve your quality of life and manage the stress that comes with a cancer diagnosis.
    WEEK 2 -Nutrition:  Treat your body right by feeding it the best fuel possible so you can feel better and tolerate treatments better.
    WEEK 3 – Psychosocial Health and Wellness:  Discover your new normal and how to talk with others about your diagnosis; discuss psychological and social issues that come with a cancer diagnosis.
    WEEK 4 – Movement: Discuss and enjoy restorative therapies to help keep your body moving.
