Who is Arizona Oncology Foundation?

Arizona Oncology Foundation is a program-based organization that helps people through cancer treatment and survivorship. We provide things that increase the quality of life while people fight cancer. Specifically, we provide the non-medical supportive services that most insurance companies either don’t cover at all or not to the extent that is actually needed. We have integrative and supportive services that help patients, their family members, and caregivers.

Arizona Oncology Foundation offers approximately 25 different programs and services. We group them into 5 basic categories – education, integrative therapies, support groups, movement and exercise, and other services such as housekeeping, transportation support, dental services, self-image, breast prosthetics, and post-mastectomy items as well as wigs and head coverings. Many of the programs are FREE. Some come with a small fee.

How is Arizona Oncology Foundation different from a normal foundation?

Typically, one would think of a foundation as having a principal purpose of making grants to unrelated organizations and other charitable causes. In our case, we not only fund the programs and services that directly help people fighting cancer, we actually deliver them.

What kind of help can a cancer patient and their family get from Arizona Oncology Foundation and how can you get services?

Arizona Oncology Foundation has approximately 25 stated programs and services. Education, integrative therapies, support groups, movement and exercise, and others, but we also try to meet individual needs as best as possible when necessary. Simply visit one of the Resource Centers in Tucson or Green Valley. In Tucson, we have one on the TMC campus at Grant Rd and Craycroft Rd, and one at Rudasill Rd and La Cholla Blvd on the NW side of Tucson. For more program information call 520-471-9067.

Where do you get the money to provide the services and programs?

AOF has a diversified funding stream that comes from:

  • Very generous individuals, local businesses and community leaders.
  • Family and corporate foundations support cancer patients through our programs and services by making donations and grants.
  • We host fundraising events ourselves.
  • We receive proceeds from fundraisers that are hosted by others.
